Social Engagement Launch Manager (Contract) at EMC

Job Description: Social Engagement Launch Manager (Contractor-40 hours/wk) 
EMC is looking for part-time Social Engagement Launch Manager contractor. This critical individual will mentor and advise EMC product teams and their “social leads” in the planning, execution and performance measurement of Social Media Launches for EMC’s new products. This role has become key as every EMC strategic product launch will now be led by social media. With the number of social launches increasing by 300% in the next 4 months, EMC is adding a part-time contractor resource to manage this surge.
The candidate will be trained on the Social Launch process, the tools, and key resources required for successful launches. He/she will assess the level of knowledge of the product team’s social launch lead and fill in the Social Media knowledge gaps enabling that individual to fulfill his/her launch responsibilities. He/she will guide the social lead and other members of the product team to engage the appropriate social resources at the appropriate time, to ensure critical tasks are completed well, in a timely and coordinated manner throughout the launch. This candidate will be instrumental in maximizing the effectiveness of EMC product launches to increase new product awareness, reach and lead generation capabilities. 
Responsibilities: 
• Train the Social Launch Leads. The candidate will provide “just enough” social media training enabling product teams to successfully plan and execute a social launch. . 
• Both leverage (and also build new) launch-related tools, resources and best practices to be successful and execute launch activities according to the launch timetable. 
• Coordinate multiple over-lapping launches, demonstrating the ability to multi-task effectively 
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with multiple teams and our own Social Engagement team members. Manage their expectations and provide constructive, on-going feedback for continuous improvement of process and results 
• Facilitate social launch meetings with product teams and often other Social Engagement team members 
• Actively participate in all Corporate Marketing Engagement Office (CMEO) Launch meetings (each 15-30 minutes long) 
• Analyze the success of the Launch, including launch performance metrics as well as making recommendations for continuous improvement of future launches, using just a few simple but compelling Powerpoint slides. 
• Work under the direction of the Social Engagement team Enablement Manager and work collaboratively with all members of the Social Engagement team as well as others involved in the launch process.
•Ability to serve as advisor on one-off engagements requested by CMEO.
Qualifications & Skills: 
• Must be “socially active” and have experience using social media tools
• Be a self-starter yet open to direction 
• Demonstrate flexibility, and ability to think in terms of multiple stakeholders during the EMC product launch process 
• Project management and leadership experience 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and a resilient, helpful attitude 
• Must invest in the success of the virtual team 
• Have the confidence and ability to provide strong, yet positive guidance to teams already under time pressures. 
• High tech work experience is preferable but not required.
